Welcome to The Hills Christian Family Centre

We’re glad you’ve dropped by to check us out. We hope we can help you connect with our church community through one of our Sunday services or through one of our many ministries during the week.
Please note: Due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions we are currently streaming services via this link at 10am on Sundays.

About Us

The Hills Christian Family Centre was planted in the Adelaide Hills community in 1998 under the leadership of Pastor David and Nerina Smythe and a faithful group of people from the Christian Family Centre at Seaton in Adelaide’s west.

Since then it has grown steadily to become a vibrant community of Christ-followers, committed to spreading the good news about Jesus and to serving the needs of the Hills community & beyond at every opportunity.

We are a Pentecostal church that supports and adheres to the vision and charter of CRC Churches International (see crcchurches.org/charter/ for info).

We believe that every human being:

  • Was created to bring glory to God the Father who has both a universal and unique plan for every person alive.
  • Needs the saving sacrifice of God the Son who is Jesus the Christ who gave his life and rose from the dead and who intercedes in heaven for us always so that we may enjoy unbroken relationship with God the Father.
  • Needs the power of God the Holy Spirit in their lives in order become the person they have been destined by God to be.
Join us at Church This Weekend.

Sunday Service 10am | Performing Arts Centre  Blackwood High School

4 Seymour Street, Eden Hills

What should I expect at a Sunday Service?
Every week The Hills Christian Family Centre holds its major gathering on Sundays at 10am. Each service includes a time of worship with contemporary music, communication using biblical and relevant messages as well as many different creative and exciting elements.

Where will I park?

Seymour Street is on the right of Shepherds Hill Road as head up the hill. You will see our sign on the corner. When you enter the high school gate, you will see the main car park immediately to your left. Other parking is available along the roadway to the right. You will see the entrance to the Performing Arts Centre straight ahead from the school gate.

What happens when I arrive?

When you enter the building, you will be warmly greeted by one of our Team Members (they’re the ones with a name tag!). On the last Sunday of the month, they will hand you our latest newsletter but these are always available at the entry so please ask for one. (Toilets including wheelchair access are located to the right of the entry through the room used for Morning Tea.) You then proceed straight ahead down the hallway and the entrance to the auditorium is on your right. Take a seat, say “Hi” to someone close by and wait for the service to start.

What if I use a wheelchair?

Space is made available at the front of the auditorium for those using wheelchairs or other mobility devices or for those who can’t climb our stairs.  Please contact our Facilities Coordinator, Wayne, on 0401 124 293 prior to your arrival so he can assist you with access for your vehicle.

What is there for the children?
The Hills Christian Family Centre’s children’s program is called ‘Hills Kids’ with programs running all year round catering for ages up to 12 years. This program runs every Sunday from about 10.30am to 11.30am. Children begin the service with their parents/caregivers in the auditorium then after the announcements they are invited down the front to join in a song together. They are then escorted out of the auditorium by a parent who must sign them into their respective program (0-2 years: Cocoons; 3-4 years: Glow Worms; 5-12 years: Sparks). One of our friendly Team Members will show you where to go in the Hallway. For parents with babies who wish to remain with their child or whose child becomes unsettled during the service, there is an area immediately opposite the Auditorium entrance which has some toys and audio of the service. After the service ends, we ask that the caregiver who signed in their child to return as quickly as possible to sign out and collect their child.

What happens after the service?
We would love you to join us for Morning Tea (free coffee/tea and snacks) in the room that will be on your left as you approach the building exit.

What if I want to connect and get involved?

Ask one of our Team Members for more info or send us a message through the “Contact” page on this website.
